| Frequently Asked Questions
What is Spinning®?
Spinning was created in the late 80s by ultra endurance athlete and celebrity trainer Johnny G. Imagine going an a bike ride in your head, on a bike that doesn’t move, with music you love, and getting a bigger fitness payoff or return than just about anything else you could possibly imagine. If your goal is weight loss, if you’re already in seriously great shape and want to maintain it, if you simply want to feel better, sleep better or all of the above, then Spinning is the absolute fast track. The activity itself uses a specially designed stationary bike with a heavy flywheel that creates aggressive inertia, in turn keeping the rider on the bike longer. By adding varying levels of resistance and simulating everything from your favorite trails to Mt. Everest, this activity is geared for any and all levels of fitness. Always consult your doctor BEFORE beginning any new exercise. Classes usually take place in your local fitness clubs, where you can find a room packed with anywhere from 10-50 bikes. Classes are tons of fun, if you can find the right instructor with a great attitude, good music, and bikes that work as well as they should. Many men and women are buying their own bikes and doing it in the privacy of their own homes because of a multitude of reasons ranging from “My favorite instructor left the club” or “I’m tired of getting to class and there aren’t any bikes left” or One of the most common reasons I hear is “The bike at my club are always broken or they just don’t feel good to me”. You have come to right place because I understand all of this and I am in the business of selling the right bike for the right person.
QuietTune® What is it? What does it mean?
Our QuietTune® build process is just one of the many dynamics that sets us apart from
any other supplier or destination when choosing a bike for your home or club.
What does it mean when a StudioCycles new or certified pre-owned bike has gone
through the QuietTune® build process?
Step one - We do a drivetrain component alignment overview which involves the
chainwheel, flywheel sprocket and drive chain.
Step two - We do a tension analysis on the components involved in step one.
Step three - With the information provided in the component overview and drive train
analysis, we make our top secret adjustments that have yielded over 15 years and more
than 100,000 test rides.
The QuietTune process yields maximum performance and optimization of your new bike,
before you ever purchase it from us!
QuietTune is a registered trademark of The Wimmer Group Inc.
Can I buy one of your bikes and just use it in front of the TV?
Any exercise is better than nothing. Besides I’ve heard SO many stories of folks who bought a bike from me for the “TV” and ended up using it 3-4-5 times a week and it changed their lives! Hey, you’ve got to start somewhere!
What do I need to get started?
The main component is the bike. Going to a few classes before you get your own bike is very beneficial. Proper instruction is critical for safety and will lend itself to a smooth transition into a healthy new lifestyle.
Will my bike get out of tune when it ships?
We use only the best materials when shipping, so your bike comes out of the box, just like it went in, completely tuned and ready to ride. Our packaging FAR exceeds the factory packaging. Extra padding, extra filament reinforced industrial taping, heavy duty corner protectors and double walled 400 pound test outer shipping shells keep our bikes safe and secure.
What’s involved in the re-assembly process?
The re-assembly process takes at most 20-45 minutes. When we prep the bike, we check, tune and adjust everything. Additionally, we lubricate all hardware associated with the assembly process and we can usually include most tools for re-assembly. There are detailed assembly instructions included with EVERY bike we sell, many with pictures and illustrations. When you unpack our bikes, there are usually 5-6 major parts that need to be screwed to the mainframe and the bike is READY to ride! PLUS, if you need our assistance, we are an email or a phone call away.
I’m in Miami/Houston/Seattle,etc. What happens if my bike has a major problem?
We go to such extreme lengths in all processes and steps BEFORE the bikes leave us, major issues are HIGHLY unlikely. However if you need our assistance, we have a 24 response time for ANY sized problem or issue, after you bike is delivered.

Who/What is StudioCycles?
StudioCycles is a company like no other. Easy to proclaim, so here’s some backup...
In this day and age anyone can say anything, without backup or merit, particularly in the wild west atmosphere of the internet. Jeff Wimmer is the man behind StudioCycles. A former professional cyclist with over 20 years of mechanical experience in the bicycle and fitness equipment BEFORE Johnny G created “Spinning”. Like anything that is mechanically involved and mass produced, there is certain lack of attention to detail AND fine tuning between manufacturing and the end user. Jeff recognized this immediately and started doing professional level builds, installs and repairs on these mass produced commercial indoor bikes. In the beginning of the indoor cycling revolution,
Jeff began working with both Schwinn and Cycle Reebok, where he created checklists of necessary maintenance items to prolong the lifespan of the bikes, keep the riders safe and repair costs down. Jeff wrote the first of 6 maintenance and repair manuals in 2001.These manuals are based on thousands of hours of mechanical experience in the field and in the shops he has started, opened and worked in. If there is any doubt about the credibility of Jeff’s experience as put on paper and in his manuals, there are over 30,000 manuals in print, the two top commercial indoor cycle producing companies not only sell these very manuals, but they also use them as reference points on their tech support phone lines. And the company that created Spinning sells StudioCycles technical manuals on their website. We are past and present technical support providers to the following:
Gold’s Gyms International, Johnny G’s World Headquarters, Nautilus/Schwinn Fitness, Cycle Reebok, Sweatshop Fitness, Revolution Fitness, Hilton Sports Complex, Madd Dogg Athletics (They OWN the Spinning brand), Lemond Fitness, Sporting House-Las Vegas, The Spokane Clubs, Mt . St. Mary’s College, UCLA, Los Angeles Valley College, MGM Fitness, Frogs Club One, Star Trac Fitness, RPM Fitness, Encore Fitness, World Gyms, Pilates Plus, Loyola Marymount University, George Mason University, AMGEN, and so, so many others.

What does StudioCycles do differently from other companies that sell commercial bikes and fitness equipment?
EVERYTHING!
No one has an operation like ours. No one person or company has done more in the indoor cycling arena than Jeff Wimmer and StudioCycles in terms of professional building, tuning, servicing and refurbishing methods. When you factor in consulting with engineers, writing THE manuals, top secret meetings with all the players in the industry, we are the absolute go to guys in our business. We’ve set the standards from day one when it comes to building or installing, doing repairs, selling on eBay, you name it, we’ve found the ABSOLUTE best methods to deliver to the end users the most optimally performing bikes and complete packages. Sure there are bigger companies, bigger warehouses. When you go ANYWHERE else, you are buying a BOX. They are selling you a box. EVERY other company thats selling you a BOX has nothing to do with the performance of the BIKE inside the BOX. Those giant fitness equipment companies are in the business of selling everything and specializing in nothing. We are the ONLY destination on the planet where you can the most credible bikes used in the top gyms ,built ,tuned or refurbished to perfection, delivered to you. Or if you live in Southern California, you can visit our warehouse in the South Bay or our store in Venice and test ALL the most desirable bikes, side by side with the differences explained in detail. Or if you aren’t local, you can get a free consultation by phone, then consider buying a new Star Trac or Schwinn that’s been pulled out of the box and professionally built and tuned to absolute perfection, with repackaging that is second to none. Add a lifetime warranty, lifetime parts replacement and lifetime email and phone tech support, no one else even comes close.

Do you have a brick and mortar store?
We are NOT you average everyday fitness equipment store!
We have a 5000 square foot warehouse/store in Hawthorne ,California with state of the art bike building, repairing and refurbishing facilities. Additionally we do product testing and much of the information we provide to manufacturers in our consulting division is discovered here as well. We also have a satellite retail location in Venice California. These are some of the only locations I’ve ever seen in the world where you can come in and try Lemond, Star Trac, Schwinn, and Keiser, all professionally built and tuned, side by side. PLUS as an extra added bonus, you will talk to personnel who know these products inside and out and can answer your questions and address your concerns.
I'm local and want to pick up a bike; will it fit in my vehicle?
These bikes surprisingly will fit into a lot of cars. When you remove the handlebars and seat towers, the bikes get pretty small. Cars with large trunks (preferably empty) are good, the Toyota Prius are super easy, and of course SUVs, mini vans are a no brainer. If you have a really nice vehicle and want to protect the interior, bring some towels or a blanket. Also, if your using a truck, bring rope or tie downs to secure your bike for the exciting ride home!
Do you deliver locally?
We will deliver locally (within a 20 mile radius) for $50.00 -$75.00 and we will install the bike exactly where you want it! If there are difficulties in bringing the bike inside, like a lot of stairs with twists and turns, please let us know ahead of time so we can be prepared! Be sure and secure large carnivorous dogs and attack cats before our arrival. We will keep you in the loop by text or phone along the way so you know when to expect us. If you are outside the local delivery area, depending on distance we can deliver as well but the charge may be higher. When we deliver your bike we will show you how to do proper maintenance, explain ride techniques, proper fit, ease of use with clip pedals and anything else you may need to know or want to ask. We are the experts and we are here to make your bike buying experience all that you could ever hope for.
Do you provide service if I didn’t buy my bike from you?
I currently only service Schwinn and Star Trac’s that are bought from someone other than myself. IF you buy a Lemond or Keiser from me, I will gladly service it for you.
What if I’m local to Los Angeles and want to pick up my bike?
You can call ahead and make arrangements, we would be happy to see you in person to answer any questions, show you proper bike set-up, plus we will show you how simple it is to effectively take care of your bike for years of trouble free use and enjoyment!
Do you sell to clubs?
Yes, we do!
We will compete to give you the best pricing on the most in demand bikes. We have serious connections and we can freight built & tuned to absolute perfection commercial bikes anywhere in the country. We build exclusively for Mad Dogg Athletics, The Jonathon Clubs, Equinox, Gold’s Gyms, YMCA’s and so many others. Big or small, we operate like no other for the discriminating end user demanding perfection Did you know that you can request StudioCycles to pretune and build your bikes when you are negotiating the purchase with the big companies? Your bikes can be sent to our state of the art facility, we can build and tune them to absolute perfection and completion, palletize them and freight forward them directly to you, ready to ride and operate to their full potential. We can also unbox, build and tune your new bikes, then repackage them and send them off to you 5 boxes to a pallet with minimal assembly upon arrival. Either way your bikes will work to their full potential and not only will your members be impressed with shiny new bikes, they will perform to their full potential! Stop paying top dollar for commercial bikes that are thrown together like end tables from IKEA. Most of the big commercial fitness equipment companies charge you top dollar up front for doing nothing more than bolting your bikes together. Use the power of negotiation and get StudioCycles involved!
We usually have the best selection of professionally serviced or refurbished used bikes with real warranties and many include clip in pedals, lifetime email and phone tech support. We will also spend quality time on the phone with your in house maintenance staff to discuss proactive preventative maintenance measures to promote the life and performance of your investment. We love what we do and it shows in every pedal stroke!
Why should I spend $30-$50 on one of your manuals?
The companies that manufacture the bikes sell my manuals. The company that started the Spinning fitness revolution and OWNS spinning sell my manuals. If your not 100% percent satisfied with my manuals, I will cheerfully refund your money within 30 days of your purchase!
How do I know which of your manuals goes with my bike?
Read the description given for each manual in the StudioCycles store for the manufacturer and models covered. If your not sure shoot us an email or call us direct!

Do you match prices?
I could say YES, I will match the price on my packages, but that would be impossible because NO one offers anything even remotely close to the things I do and put together and offer to buyers. However, if you’re not interested in a commercial bike that’s pre-tuned, with a lifetime warranty and lifetime free parts replacement, call Jeff directly and he will see what he can do.
What does your lifetime warranty cover?
It covers defects and workmanship on any and all moving parts. The exceptions typically are home version bikes and certain pre-owned bikes. On the Schwinn models with dual resistance pads, the pads have a one year warranty. Used, rebuilt, demo or ANY Triple Link pedal is one year.
How does lifetime parts replacement work?
If a moving part breaks or fails because of defects in workmanship, StudioCycles will replace it for free.
How does your lifetime internet tech support work?
If you have a question or need help with any issue on your bike purchased from StudioCycles, email us: support@studiocycles.com. Be sure to describe your problem or issue in detail, and include your contact information to help expedite a solution.
