Hot Tip of the Month- May 2008: “Tightening saddles
without injury”
It seems so simple to perform this task. But on certain bikes where the Slider
goes inside the top of the seat tower; you can really gouge your hand if you
are not careful and paying attention. When you place the wrench on the seat
guts and push or pull; it places your hand in a position to almost perfectly
scrape your hand along the sharp exterior of the front of the tower port. This
can leave a nasty gash. I really pay close attention to this and sometimes even
wear thick gloves to prevent injury.
