Hot Tip of the Month- January 2007: “The Importance
of a good Microphone”
How many times do you have to tell the GGX director there’s a mic problem
before something gets done? We as instructors take out time putting together
the right mix of music ,we get our asses to the gym on time, weather it be 6am,
or 6pm, another class ready to bring it. You turn on the mic and it’s
the itchy and scratchy show. That pisses me off to no end. There are undeniable
dynamics involved with a great class in my book, paying attention to your students,
good music, bikes that work well and are safe, and then there’s the sound
system. Remove one of those dynamics and ladies and gentlemen we have a problem.
A BIG $%^&*$ problem. I sometimes feel like getting off the bike and walking
away. But we lead by example, so we raise our voices, do whatever it takes to
get us through the next hour. If you’re a group X manager, or your in
charge, do the best you can to keep the gear in check, sooooooo many of us are
counting on you. Oh; and Happy New Year!!
