Hot Tip of the Month- May 2006: "Drivetrain Adjustments"

Adjusting the drivetrain on bikes that feel rough is one of the most difficult things to do with your bikes. Many of the new bikes come with the chain too loose, or too tight, plus when you combine that with dry chains and misaligned flywheels, your bikes can feel really bad, really fast. The most important things in a smooth drivetrain are a properly lubed chain, correct flywheel alignment and proper chain tension. If any of these very important dynamics are missing, the "feel" of the bike will be off and the more sensitive riders will not be happy. Your clients are the most important part of the chain, so take care of your bikes and everyone is happy. Check out "The Ultimate Tech Manual Series" tech manuals in our store to get all the answers to your bike maintenance needs.
