Hot Tip of the Month- July 2006: "Warranty Issues"

People call me all the time asking about what things are covered on their bikes under warranty. Typically, the frame has a lifetime warranty and the parts are multiple year. When you receive your new bikes, if you have problems or issues, you should contact the manufacturer immediately. Different companies respond to warranty issues in different ways. Sometimes, if your bikes are new, they will simply pick up the old bike and send out a new replacement. Other times, you may get a part shipped with the labor covered (or not covered) by the manufacturer. Things that are typically NOT covered; water cages, pedals, saddles, handlebar coatings. Also, there is a better likelihood of coverage after some times passes, IF there is evidence of a proactive maintenance program.
