Hot Tip of the Month- September 2006: The advantages of
a “Pro Level New Bike Build”
When your new bikes arrive, chances are they will have built by someone or
a team with the focus more on “fast assembly” rather than a “comprehensive,
careful and professional assembly”. How your new bikes are assembled will
dictate the quality of the ride, and ease of repair in the future as your bikes
are used, ridden and punished during their tenure at you home or club. ANYONE
can pull a new bike from the box, and bolt it together. It takes a skilled technician
to pull it from the box, carefully and methodically assemble it, ride it, adjust
it so it works at an optimal level. It seems I’m always beating on this
“drum”, but it’s obvious to me why a $1300.00 new bike fells
like a chainsaw. With a few qualified tweaks and adjustments that same bike
feels like a dream instead of a nightmare.
