Hot Tip of the Month- December 2003: "Bike Polish –What works best?"
Go to five different clubs and you will find five different ways and five different sprays. After 20 or so years in the bicycle industry, the standard is all over the map. Nautilus/Schwinn makes a good polish that’s been around forever. Spray it on and wipe it off, easy enough. Pedro’s also makes a polish that works very well. Finally there’s Finish Line Pro Detailer. I’ve used them all, they all work pretty much the same. If you have no money in your budget, you can always use furniture polish, some stores sell it for as little as a buck a can. You may have the lingering smell of lemon in the air but it’s certainly better than not cleaning your bikes. Using a good polish IS important, it will aid in the preservation of the finish of your bikes. Members LOVE to ride a bike that looks good and it also promotes a positive image of your club.
